Crook County Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 10:52pm on July 16th for a structure fire near Akins Drive in the area of Juniper Canyon. Two engines an ambulance and water tender responded to the scene with a total of 13 firefighters. The first arriving engine found a manufactured home and shop completely involved in fire. The fire did spread to the wildland but crews were able to contain it quickly. Law enforcement advised nearby residents to leave, they were quickly able to return to their homes. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the homeowner with the complete loss of their residence. The cause of the fire was likely an electrical problem in the shop adjacent to the house.
