Crook County Fire and Rescue responded to the area of SE Davis Loop at approximately 3:10 pm for a reported garage fire. When crews arrived they found a wildland fire that had burned near a home. The fire was held to approximately two acres in size and the home was quickly extinguished. Fire crews reported that neighbors in the area assisted in protecting the house and property before crews arrived. Six engines and one water tender responded to the fire. Crook County Fire and Rescue was assisted by engines from Oregon Department of Forestry and the BLM. The cause of the fire was an arcing power line that sparked grass underneath it to burn.
